Who Am I???

Still looking for the right pix!

Hi there,

I am told that I didn’t have quite enough information in this section so here goes…

First, I am really new to the world of blogging.  I am not sure how often I will post or what subjects might come up but I welcome you to draw what you can from my postings.

So, who am I?

  • Daughter of the Most High God
  • Wife of an awesomely talented man of God
  • Mother of four children – one 22 year old son and (step) mom to 3 adult children, daughter-in-law and brand new grand daughter
  • Middle child (two great sisters)
  • An American transplanted to Canada a few years ago.  (Soon to be applying for my Canadian (dual) citizenship!)
  • A woman battling letting go of the shame/pain of the past & living in the freedom that Christ bought for me at Calvary  (Philippians 3:13  Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.)
  • A woman who tried to run away from God only to find Him patiently waiting when I got tired of running.
  • A woman who wants to be all that she can be in Christ.  Seeking Him with everything that is within me no matter where that may lead.
  • A woman who has decided to stop playing for an extended audience and play for the audience of One that I was created for…  (I have heard the ‘audience of One’ statement in a few places so I cannot accurately credit it to anyone.  The first person I heard say this is Kay Warren.)

I would love to hear what you think about anything that you read here so please feel free to leave a comment.

My prayer for you is that you have enough.

Kris Lukings

    Hi Kris…

…Amen! I loved reading this post because I could tell that you are someone truly devoted to God, and that’s awesome. I can relate about the whole “running away from God” thing…I have had an experience like that in the past when my faith really experienced a type of dark night of the soul..where God just didn’t seem real anymore. But the great thing is…if we, as children of God, endure those times and even if we do run from Him during them..He is always waiting for us to come back like you mentioned 🙂 Praise God for His everlasting love and faithfulness…and patience! A friend of mine once said that we could take a thousand steps away from God but that it only takes one step towards Him to come back.

I’m looking forward to reading more of your articles. I, too, am a mother. I have to children-a daughter 7 and a son 2 and have been married for 9 years now. Sometimes in the midst of a chaotic yet routine life of mothering it’s easy to lose touch with God. My blog touches on ways that I’ve learned and am experiencing on how to deepen and strengthen my relationship with Him. It also notes many of my reflections and insights God has given me on my journey. Hope you can stop by sometime, it’s : http://www.ascendingthehills.blogspot.com

    Abundant blessings in Christ,
